“Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts has been one of the foundational and most influential places for contemporary dance in India. The centre has been able to visualise and achieve a fresh outlook towards how dance can be practised, created and taught in India. This centre, despite varying circumstances, has always aimed at investing time for dance, fostering global collaborations and striving for rigour and quality in training. It has provided courage to many, including myself, to work on their dance, keep evolving the perception of the same and find interdisciplinary avenues for art and performance making.”
