Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts (ACMA), a project of the Attakkalari Public Charitable Trust of Contemporary Performing Arts, strives to make performing arts accessible to everyone, irrespective of their background. The Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts is a leading contemporary dance institution in India with an impeccable track record in imparting world-class education in Contemporary Dance and allied subjects including classical dance forms, stage technologies, art history, dance pedagogy and choreography.
The Satyam Kalon Scholarship for Attakkalari Diploma in Movement Arts and Pedagogy, is a pivotal component of a newly established non-profit programme dedicated to advancing arts education in India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The programme emphasises interdisciplinary collaboration across art forms and the intersection of Western and Indian theories and practices. It has forged partnerships with leading arts institutions in these regions. Recipients of the scholarship will join an esteemed cohort of Satyam Kalon scholars, engaging in collaborative opportunities and participating in exclusive seminars and events. Merit-based, the scholarship is inclusive and open to all applicants, irrespective of background.
This scholarship programme provides crucial support to ONE talented, passionate & committed dance and movement artist to overcome their financial constraints in their pursuit of a career in dance and movement arts.
Number of scholarships available: This year, the Satyam Kalon scholarship for Attakkalari Diploma in Movement Arts and Pedagogy 2025 will be awarded to ONE eligible candidate from India who is offered admission to the Attakkalari Diploma in Movement Arts and Pedagogy through the selection process. (Total Duration 1 year)
Scope: The scholarship will be awarded to ONE candidate, amounting to INR 5,40,000/-, which will cover the tuition fee and provide a stipend of INR 20,000 per month for one year of the programme.
Eligibility:
1. Candidates must be an Indian citizen currently residing in India.
2. Candidates must have successfully cleared the audition* for the Attakkalari Diploma in Movement Arts and Pedagogy.
3. Candidates must have completed the enrollment process into the Diploma programme.

Eligibility, Audition & Application for the Course
Application Process:
1. Post successful completion of audition process please fill up the scholarship application form provided on our website.
2. Furnish one peer reference letters from individuals you have previously worked or trained with.
3. Furnish Two mentor reference letter from a teacher, trainer, professor, or instructor familiar with your work.
4. Complete the application form and upload all reference letters on the form.
5. In case you are unable to upload your reference letters, kindly send them via email to hr@attakkalari.org. The subject line should read “Reference letter – Satyam Kalon Scholarship for Attakkalari Diploma in Movement Arts & Pedagogy”.
6. Please ensure form along with all documents are submitted by 31 July 2025, no later than 5 PM. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The Attakkalari Diploma in Movement Arts and Pedagogy is aimed at young people who are passionate and committed to studying contemporary dance in a professional and academic setting with opportunities for gaining work experience through an apprenticeship programme. Entry into the programme is granted based on audition, application and interview. Aspiring dancers who are 16 years or above with a Plus 2 certificate or equivalent qualification are eligible to apply.
